This brings their total raised so far to a massive £320!! Maybe they will end up in the Bahamas for their trip if they keep raising so much.......

Today was our annual photograph day - always chaotic..!! Look at the 'staff'' page (link on the right) to see pics of out current staff (taken with Mr Cox's phone, but hey, David Bailey's not judging me...)
Thank you parents!
Thank you to all those people who took the time to fill in our parents survey for our Ofsted inspection. We appreciate it! Thank you for your support.
Congratulations Andre!
With a new Year 6 in place it was again time to elect the Mayor for Walsall Wood School. After some excellent presentations made by the candidates, pupils elected Andre as our new school mayor! We are sure that he will do a fantastic job!
Well done!
Well that's it.....
Year 6 Bowling and LAst Week 2007 024
Another year over....(John Lennon 1980).
Well done to Year 6 on a fantastic year. The best SATs results we have ever had (for the second year running), some great trips (Manor, Ice Skating, Bowling) and of course a lovely assembly today. Good luck in the future - I am sure you will all achieve great things. We will miss your humour, caring personalities and above all just 33 great children.Good luck! Stay in touch!
Key Stage 2 Awards - Well Done!!
The Shire Oak Key Stage 3 awards were held at Bescot Stadium this evening, and 3 of our pupils received awards for their hard work in Year 6. Ryan Roberts collected the Maths Award, Alex Smith collected the Science Award and Kennedy Meredith the partnership award. The prizes were presented by a very 'lively' Dave Benson-Philips from BBC TV and he brightened up proceedings with some wonderful baloon modelling (you had to be there....)Here's what was said about our winners:Primary Maths - Ryan Roberts
Ryan has worked extremely hard in Maths this year, and has made
tremdous progress. After starting the year as a Level 4, he has moved
himself to a potential Level 5 candidate through his hard work,
dedication and perseverance. He has attended all booster and revision
sessions and this has contributed to him becoming a very competent and
confident mathematician.
Primary Science - Alex Smith
Alex is a fantastic Scientist. His knowledge of the subject extends
far beyond the KS2 curriculum and he astounds the staff with the facts
and figures he is able to quote. He is extremely enthusiastic in class
and uses his scientific knowledge to pose questions beyond those that
are expected. He will be an asset to your Science department next year!
Partnership award - Kennedy Meredith
Kennedy has had a fantastic final year at Walsall Wood. Her
dedication and enthusiasm is astounding and her attention to fine
detail means that she is always trying to better herself. She never
gives any less than 100% in anything that she tackles, whether it be
inside or outside of the classroom and is an asset to Walsall Wood
School. She is fully deserving of this award.
Well done to all 3 of you - you all deserve the recognition!
More pics....
Posh Spice is not looking her best these days - Christopher 'Victoria' Hearsey in the very last photo.......
Headteacher of the year....
Year 6 Ice Skating
Year 6 had a fantastic morning at Silver Blades Ice Rink - for many, it was their first time but everyone was really good, in particular Dan and Aaron! I only fell 4 times (which is an average of once every 22.5 mins, so I think that's good...). Robbo spent more time on his backside than standing up, but he enjoyed it anyway!!! Aching legs in the morning kids.....
Stars In Their Eyes!
Another fantastic evening! Well done to everybody involved, particularly to all the Year 6 children and Mrs Peakman who put in so much effort over the past few weeks. Thanks to Ben Williams too - the video looks great.
Over the next few days, we will have pictures on the website and hopefully (technology permitting!) we will have the DVD on sale.
Congratulations to our winners:
Bananarama (Amy, Louise and Roxanne) and Leona Lewis (Abigail)
We were the first to see the spice girls reunion too... :)
Headlice - how to treat them
Up, Up and Away!!!
The nursery children read the story about The Blue Balloon and used this to inspire science investigations about air movement and flight.
They made kites, parachutes and aeroplanes to test their flight outside.
Each child released a helium filled balloon for a balloon race to find out how far the balloon will fly!
Science Week 2006
On Friday 10th March 2006, Years 5 and 6 carried out a series of investigations as part of Science Week. They managed to use fruit and vegetables to create enough power to light an LED! They worked throughout the morning with Mrs Cox from Warley High School and produuced some amazing results! Some children are going to present the work that they did on Thursday evening at Shire Oak School. Well done to everybody!

Another New Arrival....
Congratulations to Mr Drew and his wife Emma on the birth of their second child, Evie Jane. Mr Drew returned to school this week, looking a little tired, but extremely proud! We are all looking forward to seeing her!!!
A new pupil??
Not exactly - a new addition to the Lycett family though - 12 week old Jasper!! I wonder if he would cause havoc with a toilet roll??!!
It's Dressing Up Day This Friday!!!!
Don't forget, as part of our World Book Day celebrations, we are asking all children (and staff!) to come to school on Friday dressed as a character from a book. There will be an assembly in the afternoon (as well as our normal morning assembly) to parade the costumes and choose winners from each class!
Year 6 SATs Revision
