Click the links above to see some pictures of our fantastic 'Dad's Week'.  A big thank you to all the Dads, Grandads, Uncles and Brothers who came into school last week.  Hopefully you might spot yourself on these photos!  We made bird boxes, Egg Carriers, Computer Posters, and even went fishing!  We also had a great 'mini olympics' where the fitness really showed!  A big thank you to Chris who spent a lot of time organising the week.

Chris 'hits the pin'.....

In a closely fought golfing encounter, Chris managed to beat Mr Cox by 5 strokes at the weekend, which included a tee shot that hit the pin and stopped 2 feet from the hole.  Mr Cox was leading until hole 15, when a poor approach found the water and his game fell apart.  In an interview after Saturday's game Chris talked about his upcoming British Open entry.  "I know Tiger is playing well at the moment but I think I have the mental game to match him.  I am hitting the ball really well at the moment."  Chris also went on to say that he will continue to fulfil his role as learning mentor even after he becomes the world number 1.

A very famous visitor...
A very exciting day for Walsall Wood JMI School yesterday - we had a visit from the Conservative Party leader David Cameron.  After sampling Mrs Hayward's finest tea and biscuits with Mr Trawford, Mr Cox and Chris, Mr Cameron then spent half an hour with some pupils from Years 5 and 6, answering some very tough questions!  Yes Olivia, I am sure Gordon does help him!!  Lots of journalists were here, including a TV crew from Central News, the Express and Star, Evening Mail and the Walsall Advertiser.  I will post a link very soon to the Central News report and also to the reports in today's papers.

Well done Year 3!

08022008030

Each class is working hard to raise money for their end of year trip, but Year 3 are really setting the standard! They had a tombola this week and raised £220.
This brings their total raised so far to a massive £320!! Maybe they will end up in the Bahamas for their trip if they keep raising so much.......

Reception Classroom Dining!

08022008029 Reception class are now eating their lunch in their classroom - they all seem to be enjoying their own private sitting! Singing at Streets Corner Day Centre
Each year children from our school visit Streets Corner Day Centre to sing carols to the residents. They have a drink and a chat afterwards about 'the good old days!'. It was the turn of Year 5 this morning - here are some photos!
